How to get rid of moths.

Birdseed and Peanut Moth Traps

Bird Seed Moth Trap Product Review

4.9 out of 5 stars

I spent weeks trying to figure out how to get rid of moths. First I just smashed them on the walls, but they kept coming! Then I tried bay leafs (I read about them online), but no luck. Then I found pheremone moth traps and many reviews about how effective pheremones are at getting rid of moths.
I bought bird seed moth traps, and put them in the basement and upstairs pantry.

I am sending pictures from basement where bird seed is stored and pantry upstairs where peanuts & birdseed is stored. See the results for yourself!

Are Kitchen Moths, Dog Food Moths and Birdseed moths the same?

Q: Are the moths I see in my kitchen and my daughters dog food the same?

We have a indoor moth problem. They are small and we’ve been noticing them since March. They are little and wispy. I see them in the kitchen. Our daughter and her family kept their dog food open bag in our large back porch. We also have bird seed in a feeder outside, usually kept in the garage in a storage container. Are all of these moths related?

Will order your product and see what happens.

A: Birdseed, Dogfood, Kitchen moths are all the same.

All of these moths are the same, they are basically food moths, or commonly called pantry moths. These moths will eat cat food, dog food, bird seed and practically anything you leave open in your cupboards.
These moths can be controlled with pantry moth traps.

Effective pantry moth traps.

Hello – attached is a photo I took of the used traps. They work great! I had no idea there were this many pantry moths. We thought we got rid the source which we found in our pantry in the basement. However, after we set the pantry moth traps, I noticed the moths were laying eggs in tiny grooves between the rafters in the basement.
I’m definitely going to need more traps!

Thanks,

Pantry Pest Traps – They work

Successful Pantry Pest Traps

No more pantry pests.

I believe in credit where it is due. For 5 months I battled with pantry pests, tried moth-traps from Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot, but nothing but a few moths caught.

I saw an ad for catchmaster pantry pest traps and purchased a special that included 8 moth traps. I put the traps out and within 4 days the traps just kept pulling in more an more moths. I couldn’t believe the difference. They say a picture is better, so I am including a picture from my kitchen counter.

Look at all the pantry pests who won’t pester me any more!

Moth traps working wonders

I need more traps, mine are full!

Bird Seed Moth Trap Product Review

5.0 out of 5 stars
I have today re-ordered some additional bird seed moth traps. My home was infested after purchasing pet bird seed at Wal-Mart earlier this year, something I very rarely do.I had no idea how to stop the bird seed moths. I had purchased some traps similar at Lowes, but when I finally decided to purchase the ones offered on CleanerToday.com, I was thrilled. I had no idea there were so many moths in the house; I did put this on the back burner for quite some time, I didn’t know until I read about bird seed moths what I was in for and my search led me to your CleanerToday.

I currently have 8 moth traps around my 2 story house and they are working wonders, I still have some moths and is why I ordered more.

My traps are full! Thank you for your help.

How do I get rid of moths?

The number of indian meal moths seems much worse this year than in the years past. How can I get rid of moths without the risk of pesticides?

Pheromone Moth Traps to the Rescue

When it comes to getting rid of moths, the gold standard pest control solution is a pheromone moth trap. These are typically made from a glue board and a pheromone soaked square that attracts the male indian meal moth, bird seed moth etc, and captures them. Capturing the male moths prevents the next round of moths from being conceived, a form of moth birth control. Continue reading →

Moth Pheromones – What are they?

Moth Pheromones

A Moth Pheromone refers to the chemical messenger scent produced by a female moth to initiate the mating process. Male moths passing by will follow the scent of the Female Moth Pheromone and mate with her producing another wave of 100 moths
The Moth Pheromone has been studied since the late 1950′s and is very well understood. Commercial production of the indian meal moth pheromone for use in moth pheromone traps is a practical use of pheromones pest control. But Moth Pheromones are used in many commercial pheromone traps products including: pheromone insect traps, clothes moth pheromone traps and indian meal moth pheromone traps.

Moth Trap Filled Fast

CatchMaster Moth Trap Review

I put the first trap up and within 2 minutes my kitchen was full of moths. Was a little skeptical as they were just flying around not interested in the traps. I placed one near my stove and by morning I had a dozen moths or so in the trap. I also placed one in the garage where I store my bird seed and dog food. Within two hours the moth trap was absolutely full.

Man am I happy, no more swatting meal moths while we eat our meal. I have wondered for months where the little things came from and now know it must be the bird seed. I will keep traps going until the bird feeding season is over. Am sure they are multiplying in the seed bags.

Hopefully I will conquer them in the garage, but my house is now swat free.  Thanks a million, just ordered 8 Pantry Moth Traps more to keep my supply going.

It is so nice to know you can actually order something on line and it works;even in upstate New York.

Moth Trap Information – Find it here!

Moth Trap Info started with a hungry cardinal

A simple bag of black oil sunflower seed in an inexpensive feeder for a bright red cardinal that looked hungry. I stored the black oil in the bottom of my cupboard pantry and enjoyed watching the flight in my yard.

Pantry Moths flying inside

Little did I know the sunflower seeds also came with moth larvae just waiting to grow into adults and explode the population of pantry moths to the point where I was watching flight IN my house! Something had to be done! Continue reading →
